When you have passed your module 2 part of the theory test you can take the module 4 DCPC.

                            Do you need Mod 4 CPC?


   Half day training with test.


  We will train you again for free if you fail your first test.


  Training and test at our approved centre.


  Tests carried out by our DVSA approved assessor.

How to become a HGV driver



Apply for provisional licence


Take and pass a number of theory tests: A theory (module 1A), hazard perception (module 1B), Case study (module 2)


Practical driving test (module 3) giving you category C on your licence (rigid lorry)


Driver CPC practical demonstration test (module 4)


If you choose to undertake Category C+E (Articulated lorry) a further Practical driving test must be passed. For none hire and reward drivers only. Module 1A, 1B and module 3 is required.

Category C training from

Category C (rigid lorry) training typically lasts from 2-4 days depending

on experience with a practical test at the end.



Category C+E (articulated lorry) consists of 4 days training with a test on 5th day.
