Do I need a trailer licence?

When calculating total combination weight, take into consideration that the maximum authorized mass (MAM) of the trailer must not exceed the unladen weight of the towing vehicle. Check the vehicle manufacturer's guide for the maximum towing weight of the vehicle you want to use.

Example: Total (3.5 tonne) = Car (2 tonne) + Trailer MAM (1.5 tonne)
